From 8 months to 18/24 months
During this 3rd, slower, stage of growth the construction of the bones and joints has almost ended. Although the Giant puppy has almost reached its adult height, its growth is not yet completed — it will continue for a further 10 to 16 months.
Developing muscle mass
This is the stage when the Giant puppy gains bulk. It is still going to increase its weight by 1.5 times. Its energy requirements are still high and it needs proteins to build muscle mass. It is also from 8 months that the final adult teeth come through. |
